HINDU RELIGIOUS HOLIDAYS IN SCHOOL:

The Council acknowledges that Hindu students studying in primary and secondary schools face challenges when their exams coincide with religious festivals. This is unlike other Tanzania national religious holidays where the government and school management consider when planning for examinations. The Council is thus determined to convince the government and school authorities to allow students to remain absent on respective Hindu festival days to enable them join their family and friends in religious prayers. Also the Council will pursue this agenda so that the examinations at school and national levels are planned with due consideration to Hindu religious festivals.
